Camping and Baseball . . . . . . . . . . . . Spring is here!

There are many things to love about spring. . . . warm weather, pretty flowers, longer days, CAMPING, and BASEBALL. As the Phillies take the field for the start of yet another hopeful baseball season, anticipation of Two great American pastimes are building. Are we the only ones who think baseball and camping are a great fit? Both baseball and camping allow us to Slow Down and enjoy all that spring has to offer. Whether you're at the Ball Park or at your favorite Camping grounds, relax with your friends and family and take in some classic Americana along with some fresh air. Who doesn't love listening to the game on an AM radio around the campfire on those cool summer nights? As a matter of fact, were not the first ones to think that camping and baseball are a great fit. Check out this Kid's Phillies tent, how cool is that. If you have a big site or an area to play, wiffle-ball is a great campground activity. See you at the Rocks!

P.S. How to play wiffle ball.

Camping and Hiking with Your Dog

Scout at the Boulder Field
There's nothing like bringing your family's best friend along on your weekend trips. That's what is so nice about camping, dogs are almost always welcome. They are certainly enjoyed here at Blue Rocks, as long as they are kept on a leash in the park and you pick up after them.  Most dogs love camping and hiking more than we do! Just make sure you bring enough food and water for them and they're sure to stay happy. We have a nice collapsible water dish for our dog, Scout. It comes in handy when we're out hiking to the Pinnacle or Pulpit Lookouts. Instead of trying to cup water in our hands, we just pull out the soft dish from our backpack. If you are hesitant about camping with your dog, there are plenty of tips and information out there to help you feel more comfortable. A neat site to check out for tips is the All Things Dog Blog. Blue Rocks is considering adding a dog park in the near future, along with dog activities on the activity schedule. If you would like to see a dog park here, please, let us know. As always, share your dog comments and pictures here, as well as on our Facebook page. Hope to see you and your canine pals soon!

The RV Show Season

The RV show season is upon us. Last weekend we attended the Greater Philly RV Show and met a lot of great kids (. . . & Adults). We had a fun time giving out free gumballs from our "vintage gas pump" and giving free rides on our amusement car! There were lots of campers and RV's to check out. We have the Eastern Sports and Outdoor show coming up in February, then in March, we will be at the York RV Show. Can't wait to meet more friendly campers!

PCOA Convention

We returned from the Pennsylvania Campground Owners Convention (PCOA) and have decided to start our very own BLOG from Blue Rocks Family Campground! At the convention we took home a 3rd place award for our website design! If you have any ideas for what type of posts you would like to see, let us know.
